Balanced Literacy

We incorporate all the communication skills into a balanced literacy program in developing success in reading and writing.

Phonics

Our primary children are engaged in strong phonics based instruction to help give them a solid foundation for success in reading.

Math

The primary math program utilizes manipulative materials and emphasis on math literacy and problem solving. Our Intermediate Math Program is designed to allow students in grades four through six to progress at their own pace. The Arizona School Boards Association awarded Kiva the Golden Bell Award for excellence in education in recognition of the Intermediate Math Program.

Sixth Grade Studies

The sixth grade students travel to Catalina Island off the coast of California for three days in the fall to further their studies of earth science.
