KIVA IS AN

SCHOOL!!

Help Scottsdale Unified Schools and reduce your state tax bill at the same time!

Did you know that you are able to make a cash donation to our school and get a tax credit at the same time? On behalf of the students at Kiva Elementary School, we would like to invite you and your friends and relatives to participate in the State of Arizona Public School Tax Credit program that is available to all Arizona taxpayers. Arizona State Law (ARS 43-1089.01) allows you to receive a tax credit when you give up to $400 (for joint tax returns) or $200 (for individual returns) to a public school for extracurricular activities that require an enrolled student to pay a fee. Instead of the money going to the state treasury, it goes straight to helping our students. The funds do not go to the school district’s budget, they stay earmarked for Kiva.

Your Tax Credit is used for:

  • Tutoring
  • Field trips
  • Overnight trips
  • Athletic programs

Arizona law allows taxpayers to receive a tax credit of up to $200 for individual filers and up to $400 for married filers. You can claim the tax credit when filing your 2008 Arizona State Income Tax. The school must receive the funds by December 31, 2008.

If you have additional questions, please contact the Scottsdale Unified School District at 480-484-6143, or the Arizona Department of Revenue.

The cougar is also known as Puma, Panther, Mountain Lion, Catamount, and many other names. Males can be 6 ft. long excluding the tail and weigh up to 200 pounds.
The largest of the North American cats, the cougar, or puma, may travel through winter ranges of 49 square miles and summer ranges of up to 113 square miles. Habitat destruction and hunting for the fur trade threaten the cougar.
