About our School

Kiva Elementary School redefines education with a whole-child-centered approach, innovative teaching methods, and a commitment to making learning not only rigorous but also enjoyable. Kiva stresses the importance of everyone doing their BEST. In other words, Be kind, Eager to learn, put Safety first, and Take responsibility.

Rigorous academics are balanced with a focus on creating a positive and engaging learning environment. Kiva's art room is a haven of creativity, fostering a unique approach to teaching and learning.  Specials, including music, band, art, and strings, provide students with choices, encouraging them to discover and nurture their passions.

Active engagement is the norm at Kiva; students are not passive recipients but active participants in their learning.  Reading and math specialists in second through fifth grade ensure individualized attention, leading to academic success. Kiva's ability to group students for targeted and challenging support ensures academic gains and minimizes behavioral issues. Programs like Panda, LRC, and ALC cater to diverse learning needs, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all.

Kiva's C comprehensive Gifted Program (CGP) CGP provides accelerating the student’s learning journey.  Meeting students where they are and pushing them to achieve beyond expectations is the core philosophy of our gifted program.

Kiva offers a plethora of extracurricular activities, clubs, and enrichment programs, promoting a holistic approach to education.  Clubs like student council, robotics, drama, and sports cater to diverse interests and talents.

Kiva is a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) school, emphasizing kindness, responsibility, and eagerness to learn.  Monthly assemblies, celebrations, and a flexible, student-focused approach contribute to a positive school culture.  Quarterly celebrations bring parents into the school, fostering a strong sense of community and involvement.  Events like the art show, open to former Kiva families, showcase the achievements and talents of our students.

Kiva has a vibrant parent community that actively participates in school events and programs.  Annual events like Family Fun Night and the Artwalk strengthen the school's ties with parents and the community.

At Kiva Elementary School, we go beyond conventional education. We inspire, engage, and nurture the love for learning in every student, making each day at Kiva an exciting adventure!
